When I travel, movies are always on my mind. From the deserts of Lawrence of Arabia, perfectly captured by David Lean and Cinematographer Freddie Young, to the temples of Indiana Jones or the otherworldly landscapes of Interstellar. I hope to capture these same kinds of emotions in my photographs.

While perched on a rock in the middle of a valley in Greece, and listening to my movie soundtrack playlist, I couldn’t help but feel how cinematic the moment and view in front of me felt.

The sun set behind the monolithic rocks of Meteora, casting a last ray onto Holy Trinity Monastery and the beautiful autumn foliage in the valley. Below the mammoth slabs, the first lights of night began to come on in Kalambaka.

Cinematic indeed.
